Personal statement
I am always looking to improve, build on and learn new skills in any area of theatre practice. My career in professional theatre began when I was 15 when I joined 'The Penguin Crew' in Cambridge, working mainly in the ADC theatre but occasionally in the Mumford and the newly refurbished Junction. It was during this time when I 'learnt the ropes' including the basics of Strand and ETC Congo programming.
In September 2006 I enrolled at Central School of Speech and Drama studying BA(Hons) Theatre Practice (Production Lighting). I have, and am still using, the resources at CSSD to improve my skills before entering the industry as a full time career. I am aiming to improve both my practical skills such as desk programming and rigging, and my soft skills such as management and teamwork. Once I have finished my course at CSSD I intend to go into large scale touring productions, but I also have an interest in live music events and festivals and I aim to gain experience in these in the near future.
